Fraps
I found this really cool program last night that captures in-game play to an .avi movie file and it works really well. Most programs like these capture a series of a thousand .bmp files then you have to use another program to merge and convert all of those to a movie file. This one captures in real-time and the results are outstanding. While the file sizes remain huge even on the smaller resolution setting, they can easily be re-encoded to reduce the file size. I recorded approx. 2 minutes and the file size was 707 MB. I then converted it to an .wmv file to share on the web, which turned out to be 6.1 MB and the quality wasn't degraded very much at all. The program also has a framerate benchmark utility in it and will also do screenshots. You can get the demo here: FRAPS
